Existing Olman Source Material

Existing Olman Source Material
By Maria Deltorre

In order to expand and rebuild the body of material on the Amedio and the Olman people, it is first important to recognize and evaluate what has previously been written.

Three primary sources exist documenting the Amedio and Olman people, and are listed here for your review.

Dungeon Module C1 The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan
This adventure module, for the AD&D 1st edition game, is the foundation for all other work on the topics. In my work, this source is considered primary, and every effort will be made to conform to the material within.

Green Nightmare: The Amedio Jungle, Part 1
From the pages of Oerth Journal, issue 4, this article is another excellent source of material on the topic, although not 100% official. Excepting provisions made to preserve the material in module C1, efforts will be made to conform to this material. Sadly, I know of no sequel to this article, despite it being labelled -part 1-.

The Scarlet Brotherhood
A sourcebook for AD&D 2nd edition, this book touches briefly on the Olman people, and attempts an examination of the Amedio jungle as a locale for encounters with Scarlet Brotherhood agents. In my humble opinion, it fails miserably on both counts. No consideration is given to this product in developing the region here, but where applicable, I will try and point out areas where I differ from this book to allow DMs to decide which material best suits their campaign.

Other, lesser sources will be cited as they are referenced.
